The Dehomag (Deutsche Hollerith Maschinen Gesellschaft mbH) was the german predecessor of IBM Germany, founded by Hermann Hollerith Besides the punch card machines, Dehomag also produced very reliable factory clocks. This factory clock model was later continued by IBM and used in the IBM factory clock system. Remarkable is the special 24 hours dial, which was not normal in 1925. The light and dark areas show the day or night time. The (factory-)day ranged from 6:00 to 17:00 . A very nice clock in an oak cabinet with a voluminous two mainspring clockwork, whis is controlled with a hard “tick- tack” by the 1,4 kg heavy pendulum. In the dial are two vertical slits, where you can see the winding status of the mainspring. This clock has been built in the later IBM factory in Berlin Lichterfelde east.
